Grant837 136
[edited with more detail in the last line where I give my current approach, which does not force a daily note on you each day] I was all excited about the new Daily Note feature because I read I "could choose a template". Finally! I had long hoped for the ability to edit or create my template for the Calendar Event notes, and now it sounded like it was going to start happening, starting with the new Daily Note template. Alas, nope, we have to pick from one of 3 fixed templates, none of which fit my way of working or tracking information. Sigh Also, we can not rename, or choose the notebook they are saved in... which also does not fit my format for Stack and Notebook naming. OK, end of rant. Someone may know I am missing something, or of a workaround, or tell me I am being silly hoping for these features. For now, I will stick with a Daily Note event in Google Calendar, Click on "Add Note" (It gets the events name "Daily Note", delete the contents, and insert my own template, and manually move it to my <Daily Notes> folder... 5 Link to comment
laurence.glazier 137
I have renamed and moved mine, but I agree that it should be possible to edit the templates or choose our own. 3 Link to comment
Jon/t 1,612
CTRL+A and delete then open the gallery and assign your own template. I do this and it takes me less than 5 seconds. Custom templates are something that's been mentioned a few times to the devs so hopefully it will come. 3 1 Link to comment

The new Daily Note feature could use some improvements. It would be great to see more customization options and better integration with existing notes. Link to comment

Indeed, that is what the last line of my post says I do 🙂 Link to comment
Mats Geijer 10
I agree with the previous posts - the daily notes feature needs work. I would suggest to implement 1. A customizable template 2. A customizable automatic title function. For example, I want my notes to start with the date in the international format (YYYY-MM-DD) to allow for sorting. With a little more flexibility the function will be excellent. 2 Link to comment

I would like to have a possibility to open it even if I am not inside EN… Just to take an idea - then close the window (Alt-F4) and be back where I was… 1 Link to comment

shaddack 2
Hello all. I also like the idea of a daily note but would like some more customization options. At least let me choose a blank note instead of one of the three cluttered ones. But as someone pointed out, Ctrl-A and delete everything fulfills this. But some more streamlining would be nice I like how Amplenote has implemented this. They call their daily notes "jots". They are created everyday, but only if you actual write something in them they will appear as notes among your notes. Epmpty jots will stay out of sight. With the EN approach I see a a lot of notes created which are empty, at least for me. Link to comment

Same here. Good idea. Not intuitive to use. Not user friendly yet. 1 Link to comment
