Content added on phone app not showing on Mac app (but still exists in the note)

Here's what happens.

I open a note on the Evernote app on my phone. I add Sentence 1 to the note.  I wait for it to sync. I close.

I go to the Evernote on my Mac. The note shows that it was edited "Just now". I open the note. Even though Evernote Mac has recognized that I made changes on my phone, the sentences I added are not there. I add Sentence 2 to the note on my Mac. I wait for it to sync. I close.

I go back to the note on the Evernote app on my phone. Now it contains all content - both Sentence 1 and Sentence 2. So it's not a syncing issue: the content is all still there in the note. My phone has everything.

But for some reason, the Mac app only shows Sentence 2. It is only showing the content that was added on the Mac, not on the phone.
