Can't move note to notebook in stack

When I look at the stacks/notebooks, I have a notebook named iMac in a stack called "Devices". When I try to move a new note to the notebook, that, and other, notebooks are grayed out. Why can't I put a note in any notebook I choose? I did a workaround by recreating the note in that notebook, but that is not a satisfactory solution.

Hi. Please state your device and OS / Evernote version numbers. Has your app been updated or installed recently? Are you otherwise able to see all your notes?

Thanks for the prompt reply. OSX Sonoma on iMac, EN version 10.91.1. I don't recall the last time it updated and I do see all my notes.

The current version is 10.97.

Update and try again.
