Nickerz 23
I received an email from Evernote earlier this week confirming my account will be "...transitioned from Plus to Personal...will be updated to...$129.99 USD per Year." so I cancelled my subscription today which gives me until my renewal date of 8/6/24 to make any changes. However, I have NO plans to change at this point as I've been using UpNote since 3/1/24. After using UpNote for a solid month and realizing I love the features and especially the hotkeys, on 4/1/24 I paid only $29.99 for a lifetime subscription and I can't stress this enough...I LOOOOOOOOVE UPNOTE! Apparently Evernote has new ownership but whatever the case, it's a much different app (and not for the better in my opinion) than when I first starting using it back in 2014. Evernote's customer support is absolutely horrible as well! It took their support team to respond to my ticket over 2 weeks one time! TWO WEEKS and this was after I hounded them about it. By comparison, I contacted UpNote about a few questions I had and was emailed back later that day! I feel UpNote does pretty much EVERYTHING Evernote does and it does it FAR BETTER and EASIER! So for me, it was an easy decision to pay a one-time subscription fee of $29.99 to UpNote vs. $129.99/yearly fee that Evernote continues to increase. I've been paying $49.99/yr. so apparently the sky's the limit with Evernote pricing. 🤑 No thanks! 🤑 I think the real test for me, was not using Evernote, not even once since I exported all of my notes to UpNote and Upnote made it so easy - all my notes kept my Evernote formatting! I didn't expect that but it's a feature you have to select when importing to UpNote but it worked, all the pics, formatting, etc. is the SAME! Plus features Evernote doesn't have. I never needed Evernote, I didn't miss it, none of the features, nothing. I forgot about it until I got their email a few days ago and when I opened it up, I was prompted to update the app. 😛 So yeah, it was months that I last used Evernote and didn't even notice it at all. Good bye Evernote and good riddance! 🙄 3 1 Link to comment

Level 5 PinkElephant 8,832 Posted July 13 Level 5 Share Posted July 13 Why does anybody who received a permanent rebate for years through a grandfathered plan think there might be others interested ? I give a damn if some fellow user cancels his subscription, because he loves his nickel more that the value he receives. Paupers do love their purse more that it does them any good. From this perspective love it very finite, and self reflectory. 1 Link to comment
mackid1993 1,290
Man, you got a huge discount for YEARS. You were very lucky. This post comes off as salty because your free lunch ended. Remember, you get what you pay for. If $29.99 for a lifetime plan doesn't raise red flags for you I suggest you look further into UpNote. FYI they don't even support 2FA without forcing you to use SSO through Google or Apple. Their entire tech stack sounds like a security nightmare. You are also trusting your data to two guys, not a company with a long track record-- two guys. What happens when they disappear one day, with your data? 1 Link to comment
Dundika 1
Tested UpNote, it is better than EN and yet the interface is similar EN are not worth paying for, they seem greedy, has bad support, and I just lost interest because their updates is not to my liking Here is there recurring popup which may come every 10 seconds, not allowing me to do anything with it What other alternatives are there? 1 Link to comment

UpNote takes a daily backup, and can even convert it automatically to Markdown, so your data is safe and readable on your own computer. 1 Link to comment

Phil11 1
I’ve also cancelled, it’s so bad this new pricing I feel whoever bought Evernote got a shock when they realised it wasn’t as profitable as they’d hoped. It’s lose-lose for the company and the users I think. Bye Evernote! 1 Link to comment
