Evernote Helper App on Mac

Is it possible to get rid of the Evernote Helper App on Mac?

If not, is it possible to not push updates almost every freaking day?

The update process on a Mac is so painful. The Helper App stays on top of the screen and will not stay closed. Just keeps popping up.

OMG. This alone is why I tell people not to use this app. At some point, I'm going to have to "bite the bullet" and move to another tool.

Damn you Helper App!

Which helper app do you mean ?

There are processes called "Evernote Helper", but they have NOTHING to do with the little menu bar Helper symbol.

If you have popups showing during an update, something is broken in the update process. Either you have a managed device (corporate or university owned) where you are not allowed to install, or you need an administrator account to confirm an install.

Thank you for your response.

You are correct. I have to request temporary admin access to update Evernote. It is painful. Why not let me close that popup that says an update is ready to install or pause it for a set period of time? Why force the update window to re-open immediately after you close it? Why not let me at least push the update window behind other windows? It stays on top of all windows. Very painful.

No idea, I can’t read the mind of UI designers.

The only permanent fix of your problem is to switch to the AppStore version of the EN client. Once authorized by an admin on installing it for the first time, it can be updated from the AppStore without authorizing it again.
