Only one device allowed on free, "can't unsync more than twice a month," sync doesn't work, time to move on

For the past few days Evernote has not allowed me to use more than one device with my free account.

This would be fine if they said "we are now limiting free accounts to one device," but they didn't, they limited me to one device and then said "you are limited to two devices, please unsync a device."

Then today, after opening it up on my work computer (which still had unsync'd notes from 1.5 months ago, despite being connected to the Internet every day, and which I therefore seldom use it on anymore), I opened it on my home computer and tried to unsync the work computer. It informed me that I'm not allowed to unsync "more than twice a month." So now I cannot use even the one device that I mainly use it on. And if I want to get my information out, I have to comb through it all on the other machine.

I've paid for Evernote in the past, and I would pay again, but the fact is that their product didn't work properly last time I stopped paying (i.e. it didn't sync, and I had constant issues with conflicted copies, and that problem has only been worse lately). Also, logging into Evernote Web would immediately log me out within seconds, and the main help page for that problem did not work, and using a different browser did not work.

Now they are engaging in shady tactics with me, instead of just openly saying "we're limiting you to one device" or "here is a trial period until you have to pay."

If they wanted me to pay, all they had to do was make the product function correctly and then provide me with a countdown until I was cut off.

As it stands, I'm appalled by their behaivour and will test out alternative software. It's been a very long time of using this with no intent to switch. It would have been so easy to convert me--but you failed.

„Time to move on“ says it all - why so many words ?

Free is a trial, and you are beyond that. It’s logical you should accept the consequences.

Having this same exact prob (adding here because might be useful to others, if solution is provided, for others going through same issue)....

So, I get I have to pay for the upgrade if I want to sync my devices. I have d/c the 2 devices. However, I can't access on any of my devices w/o the pay wall and I am trying to get my info (tasks/notes/etc as I have stuff I need from it). How do I download (or at least get access to it so I can write it down) this information if I am completely walled out w/ no access?

Praise the Lord it is fixed now and I am able to screenshot and move on. If you have no money check opensource software

The subscription price is not the software alone. A significant chunk goes into the sync and server infrastructure.

When you check out other note apps, you usually pay as well for a sync option, even if the software is open source.

Pay for what you use, and focus on using what you need.
