halriko544 7 Posted July 2 Posted July 2 It is not possible to have all the data on my computer to be able to work offline. I have tested a lot. I clicked on every note and left my laptop online for several days. Whenever I'm on the train or airplane without internet, I can't access all the data. Above all, the attachments are rarely offline. I also don't know which note including attachments is offline or not. And I can't see which attachment is offline or not in a note either. Very intransparent. You always have to switch off the Internet to test which attachments are already offline. I have to use my Android phone, which has certain folders offline, so that I can access my data. Why doesn't Windows have such an important feature as offline folders? I would download ALL my folders if I could. I hope this is a top priority. Otherwise it's hard to work on the go.
Evernote Expert agsteele 3,069 Posted July 2 Evernote Expert Posted July 2 The normal mode of operation is to have everything available when you are offline. There is a setting to keep all your data. When the application first connects and downloads data this can take awhile but once complete your notes should be available on or offline. Check the application settings. If the option is already set correctly then I would recommend a complete and deep uninstall using Revo Uninstaller (Windows) or Appcleaner (Mac OS). Reinstall the latest version from evernote.com Allows all your bits to download and you should be good to go.
Level 5 PinkElephant 9,003 Posted July 2 Level 5 Posted July 2 This may work, or it won’t. For me it didn’t do the job. It is one of these nagging issues that the core of the app is damaged, and all the management and devs seems to care about is adding new features. We have some serious trouble spots with what we have, and I don’t think ANY new feature is as important than fixing the core functions, like storage, search and export. I encounter frequently unavailable content when I take my clients offline on one of my Macs. This after full uninstalls/ reinstalls. Given the size of my account it takes several days for a fresh download to run. Given the folder size in Finder, everything should be there, but in the client it doesn’t show. Instead I get an „unavailability“ message. So I assume there is a problem with the client to access the data that IS downloaded and ready on the drive. Support as usual is of zero use, and it seems impossible to get this fixed. Support told me to get a fresh download, even if I tell them in the ticket that this is exactly what I did before sending the ticket. Offline access is a key promise, and this promise is broken since several months now. It is a massive negative point for traveling folks like me. My current workaround is a full download on my iPad. But given the restrictions of the mobile client, this is no replacement for a seamless offline use of a desktop client. Which at least for me is positively broken. 1
Dave Green 278 Posted July 2 Posted July 2 It also appears that some of the search capability is done online.

There are numerous evidence of that on forum. And I've tested offline availability on my several PCs - some notes are STILL randomly unavailable offline, after days and days staying online. BS refuses to let us have 'sync' button (i.e. "force update/download EVERYTHING") and doesn't care much of this problem. Or unable to something about that. Well, at least there's evernote-backup tool.
