Image editor Unusable via the pencil icon, works via three dots

In the last month or so the image user has become unusable, and impossible to exit without exiting the app when opened via the pencil icon. 
The first symptom is cursor misalignment. When trying to add elements to an image or mark using the marker, the item ends up near the bottom of the file when I click near the top. In the image below, I draw the arrow toward "add elements" and you can see where it ends up. 

Then I want to exit and there's no save, no cancel button up top. I try scrolling up and a scroll bar does appear, but only with the mac X - [] options upper left which merely expand or hide the window. I have to completely exit the app to continue working. 

HOWEVER, if I highlight the image and click on the three dots, and choose Edit and Annotate from there,  I get the proper window with the Save and Cancel buttons AND the items I go to add are at the cursor:

 

So I hope this helps anyone facing the same issue, but please Evernote, fix this?

I used Appcleaner to completely uninstall Evernote and reinstalled, updated to 10.91.1, and the problem persists.

Doesn't seem to be an issue on Windows 10.92.3
