JoLip 18
Does anyone have advice for me regarding Penultimate's inability to open up / sync properly from the iPad? It's usually an immediate thing. But it's been two days and I'm not able to open my notes that I'd written on my iPad using my Apple pen. The images should appear in Penultimate on my other devices, but they are not opening up. Please see screen shot below. Hope someone can advise me. Thanks Link to comment
Sayre Ambrosio 525
It may have something to do with Penultimate being discontinued. It can no longer be downloaded from any of the app stores and I'm not sure how long the support is going to last for it. Your best bet would be to try and reach out to customer service via the help menu in the app or in the Evernote app and see if they can help you recover anything and see if they can help you move it out to another app or directly into Evernote itself. 1 Link to comment
JoLip 18
Oh NO!!! That is the worst news ever!!! Thank you for letting me know this, Sayre. I'm a health practitioner and I write my consultation notes on my iPad and then save them to my patients' Evernote files. I really don't know what I'm going to do if Penultimate is discontinued Would you know if there's anything that will take its place? And would you know why they decided to discontinue Penultimate?? Thank you Link to comment

Thank you I felt the same way. BUT check out Noteshelf 3 which is actually better than Penultimate IMHO. You can even add audio in Noteshelf. Might work better for the consultation notes. https://www.noteshelf.net 3 Link to comment

Moira Benigson 0
I have been locked out of Penultimate and the notes aren't loading to Evernote - only the thumbnails. Keen to try the new app suggested above - but I need to retrieve my lost data. Please kindly advise as it's all business critical. I had not received a notification to say Penultimate was being discontinued... Many thanks Link to comment
Level 5 PinkElephant 8,819 Posted July 22 Level 5 Share Posted July 22 Did you try on the web client yet ? Link to comment
Moira Benigson 0
I did - the web client and app show the same spinny wheel as Jo posted above I was still using Penultimate but got locked out earlier today. I can see the thumbnail of the note - but not download the notes themselves - probably every other note since about May. Link to comment
Level 5 PinkElephant 8,819 Posted July 22 Level 5 Share Posted July 22 The spinny wheels indicate the notes have note been fully synced from the iOS device. The notes are there as an envelope, but the content has not yet synced. Penultimate is deprecated, unsupported and will eventually cease to work. So longer term it is not a good idea to continue using it. However I just tried, my app still allows to create content, and it synced just fine. Did you try to connect to your EN account from the Penultimate start page, settings ? Link to comment
