Links for 10.91.1-mac links not working

Recommended Posts

A new bug has crept into the latest build. Say I right click on a note in the sidebar, copy internal link > create app link... then paste that link into a new note. When I click on that pasted internal link I don't get taken to the original note like I was expecting, I get taken somewhere else.

Also when I try and create a new note or use Cmd + N I don't end up in a new note, I end up somewhere random.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Links are now completely broken for me. They used to reliably not work from a filtered list now they often don't work at all. Haven't yet discovered a patttern. Fortunately the work around of opening the target note in a new window by ctrl+clicking the link (sorry I don't know the Mac equivalent) still works.

This is catastrophic for me as most of my workflow is based around internal links 😞

The work around is CMD-click on the Mac and does open the link in a new window which is some help but very annoying and it also doesn't work in every case.

I'm pretty sure this problem started after the last update and I'm running version 10.91.1

There is no work around for the web version so it's totally broken but iOS is fine and no work around needed, go figure!

A very sad state of affairs...

Confirmed! Internal links have been completely f*cked up on macOS in one of their latest updates.

I am surprised that this has been detected since version 10.91.1. I noticed just now after updating to 10.91.3. This means that they have updated the macOS app 2 times since the bug appeared and still haven't fixed this issue.

Following my tests here, when you click on an internal note link it appears that you are taken to the notebook the linked note is in, not to the note itself.

I have tested in iOS and all the links are working fine there on 10.91.3

Same in windows (EN 10.91.3), "completely f*cked up" 😕

Seems to work OK also in android app.

10.91.4 - Fixes internal note links between different notebooks

But not if the note is in a filtered list. This long standing bug still exists.

Good observation.  The workaround for me is after taken to the notebook the linked note is in, click the original internal link again, it will then show the correct linked note.  Still, this is definetly the bug needed to be fixed...

I may be totally wrong but I think that the RENT update will fix a lot of these types of issues to do with listing things and displaying things correctly in the note list.

Are on the new 10.91.4? Just tested a few app links and they work fine. Go to notebook and note.

Presumably no time scale for this?

As far as I know they're coming to the end of the development. I don't want to say the time scale I've read as it may change but I would like to think its not months.

I think they've been working on it for almost a year and its a big step forward to switching off the huge Java monolith programme that runs a lot of stuff.

I also think, and its me just thinking that a lot of the more irritating issues will be fixed with RENT so fingers crossed.

My links are screwed for my mac in Evernote Version 10.9.1.  I'm completely dependent on links for navigation through a decade's worth of notes.  What a disaster.

Running 10.104.3 desktop app on MacOs and internal notes are still a colossal mess. The CMD + click the link hack does work but as others have noted this opens the linked note in a separate window and that's clumsy.

Internal links in a filtered list are hopeless but so is just clicking on a link in the unfiltered list of notes. It either stalls and does nothing or goes back to the "home view" for the current notebook or (most often) just reloads the same referring note.

There are some weird glitches. Like if I sort the list of notes by date updated (rather than date created) then I can get the internal links in some of the notes towards the top to work (???) but not even all the links in those notes (???).

Seems like the ios app v. 10.104.1 is working better wrt this issue.
