SMALL ADJUSTMENTS NEEDED: LINKS, WINDOWS, AND AI

Rafael B

Idea

A few months ago, I dedicated several days to drafting suggestions for new features to be discussed here in this forum. Many of them were debated, others were praised, and to my delight, several are being implemented – albeit insufficiently. However, I would like to suggest some features that, in my opinion, will make a significant difference in many people’s workflow.
Text selection in images: Evernote needs to implement this feature.
Facilitate linking to other notes’ contents with an easier shortcut: it doesn’t seem useful that Evernote uses a bar, but rather something simpler like an at symbol (@). This way, it would be easier to link notes and even reference specific files that are in another note, or even synchronize specific blocks.
Improvement in the management of multiple windows, both on Mac/PC and iOS/iPadOS/Android: Currently, Evernote windows are chaotic and difficult to organize. I urge you to think of a solution for this!
Integration and journaling: Based on geolocation, YouTube history, browsing history, and other metrics, I suggest that Evernote, through AI, creates a log of activities we have performed on our devices. This will allow us to know what we did each day without much effort. For those concerned about privacy, I believe this feature should be well-implemented and optional.
AI transcription of audio and videos: I know this is expensive and complex, but I believe it will be essential for facilitating information retrieval, transforming Evernote into a reliable repository.
Enhancement of the “files” section: many of the files we add to Evernote are not actual files, but rather parts of a text, illustrations, tables, and the like are not always useful or should be accessed separately from their context. Therefore, I would like to suggest that we have more control over which files should appear in the files window. In my view, this is a great feature, but it needs improvement.

Hey everyone, what do you think of these suggestions? To me, the first three are urgent.

My thoughts:

Enhancement of the “files” section - 100% agree - I have 50K "files" but only 4K actual

AI transcription of audio and videos - this would be interesting if it worked reliably.  I've yet to see any transcription app I've tried work to the point where I found it useful.  Maybe in the future.  Now I would just spend a lot of time editing the transcription.  I currently prefer to attach a recording.

Improvement in the management of multiple windows - I currently open up separate windows if needed but any better way to organize this would be welcome

Text selection in images - I can search in images which is my primary need.  I've never needed to select text in images but I can see how that could be helpful

Facilitate linking to other notes’ contents with an easier shortcut: it doesn’t seem useful that Evernote uses a bar - I need a better explanation of this one.  Evernote recently added intranote linking which I think was pretty well done.  I'm not sure what you mean here.

Integration and journaling - the last thing I would ever want is another tracker of my time.  I'm sure there are other apps that do this today.  I don't see the benefit to Evernote to divert development resources to this one.

Rereading it now, I believe it wasn’t clear. Fortunately, I already detailed this suggestion a few months ago. Here is the link:

This is a personal need, and I understand it’s quite specific, which is why it was last on the list.

In case you were not aware typing / will bring up a list of some of these items today and then some use autohotkey, or something similar, to create a hotkey to a specific item in the list.  Not exactly what you want but it might be a usable work around.

Sure, but understand, unless Evernote sees a general use for a feature it will unlikely be added, but you never know and it never hurts to ask.

Could you show how to do this? Is there a link explaining it?

Just open a new note and type /

A list of options like this should pop up:

There is more in the list, it is scrollable.  For videos, check out this guy.  He does a pretty good job covering new features.  Several have been added recently that you may not be aware of.
