New mac "share" hotkey is a P1 disruption and melting my brain - please help

Recommended Posts

Command+S is save. Across every app and platform and web thing. I know that in some contexts saving is automatic and "Save" might not even do anything. But I've been doing it long enough that it can never be anything else. I subconsciously hit command S constantly while composing anywhere. There's no way for me to compartmentalize the reflex because it only matters in some apps and not others.

So when you made "share" command S, it destroyed my experience. The share link modal is CONSTANTLY popping up while I'm writing notes, and it will not stop. Please respect the legacy of command+S and put this on something else. I promise sharing is not something you do so frequently that you need a quick reflex hotkey. This needs a hotfix IMO.

Thank you,

Since you don't need to "Save" in EN - ever, it is a technical impossibility - you have no need to press cmd-S at all while in EN.

You can change it yourself, if you still don't like it. Open the keyboard shortcuts list, and go to the shortcut. Now hover the mouse over the shortcut. 3 dots appear in front of it. Click on them, choose "Edit" from the menu and then press any key combination you like better.

When you see this, press any combination of keys that you want to assign:

This is also a problem for me.  I'm a programmer and for the last 30 years I've been pressing command S to save, it's automatic and I hit it all the time. I've tried to change the shortcut but it says this shortcut cannot be edited. I'm on mac.

Please advise.
