patrickx 6 Posted May 16 Posted May 16 (edited) I've been schooled by some others that one way to do this is with Boolean search terms, using OR between "tag:name1" "tag:name2" etc. It would be useful to click on tag names instead of typing all this in and potentially missing some tags because I can't choose them from a list. Thanks. Edited May 20 by patrickx replaced AND with OR
0 Level 5 PinkElephant 9,010 Posted May 16 Level 5 Posted May 16 For just a Boolean AND between some tags you don’t need Boolean search. Just select the tags from the contains-menu. All selected items will be combined with a logical AND by default
0 Mike P 3,069 Posted May 17 Posted May 17 I'm confused. The title says ll the notes that appear in any of those chosen tags but your text says 10 hours ago, patrickx said: using AND between "tag:name1" "tag:name2" etc. As @PinkElephantsays AND is not required and the same thing can be achieved using the filter menu. If you do actually want OR this is more tricky and can currently only be achieved with the search syntax. I have an Autohotkey script that copies a tag name, prepends tag: and then pastes it into the search box but therer is no built in simpler way of doing it 1
0 Level 5 PinkElephant 9,010 Posted May 17 Level 5 Posted May 17 Well, just tried, and it is not all THAT tricky. Just type this into the search field - if reused something like AutoHotKey or TextExpander is helpful. It will produce a list with all notes holding mytag1 or mytag2, or both. tag:mytag1 OR tag:mytag2 Caution: No spaces allowed in the tag-term. If your Tag contains spaces, you need to type it like this: tag:"mytag with spaces"

OR is the option that is missing in Evernote. 1
0 Level 5 PinkElephant 9,010 Posted May 20 Level 5 Posted May 20 (edited) Wrong - just type tag:mytag1 OR tag:mytag2 into the search field. Its a non exclusive OR - notes with both will be listed, as any notes with one of them. Edited May 20 by PinkElephant Syntax corrected

If you are going to respond in such an agressive way, completely ignoring the context of the thread (which is to be able to do it by "clicking tag names") you could at least check that your response is correct (which it was in your earlier post). The correct format is tag:mytag1 OR tag:mytag2 1
