jfwarrior 6 Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Just noticed this... Peculiar similarity between Greplin's website and Evernote's. It's... identical! ... From the header image... down to the text.
heather 604 Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Zendesk's website is eerily similar to ours as well. Including the color scheme. But no, not ours. You know what they say about imitation...
Level 5 jbenson2 2,149 Posted January 10, 2011 Level 5 Posted January 10, 2011 They have a Register Now button, but they crossed it out and added:And their privacy policy : "We intend to write a clean and comprehensive policy as soon as possible"What sites does Greplin index?Coming Soon:EvernoteHmmm, that is interesting. I presume Evernote already knows this.
Level 5 jbenson2 2,149 Posted January 10, 2011 Level 5 Posted January 10, 2011 They're using our API.That is interesting. If Evernote is not the parent company, I would think they should be forced to give some sort of credit to Evernote. The only mention of Evernote I could find was:October 3, 2010: "We're happy to announce that we'll be temporarily releasing Evernote as a free index to all current users."They were oversubscribed on September 17, 2010 and they are still oversubscribed almost 4 months later. They updated their blog on December 6, 2010.Greplin's office is in the SOMA neighborhood of San Francisco, just down the road from Evernote.
heather 604 Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Evernote is nowhere near that, unless by road they mean "the 101".http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source= ... =UTF8&z=10I swear, we're not them. And they're still in a closed beta. When they release, they'll apply to be in our Trunk like everyone else.

When you live in Minnesota, SOMA does seem to be right down the road from Evernote.
heather 604 Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Well, when I was in Africa, the people were all excited to hear I was from New York City because that of course meant George Bush (Washington DC) and Brad Pitt (Hollywood) were my neighbors. It's all about perspective.
