evad3r7926 5
Hello, I have encountered this bug a couple of times now on a couple of notes, but the usage of checkboxes (not tasks, to be clear) is causing some notes to completely lock up the web client, to the point where I need to crash the tab to reload the web client. I'm able to load these notes on other devices such as the iOS app. I have tried removing the checkboxes through the iOS app and as long as I can reload the web client without loading the cached version of the previous note - it seems to resolve the issue. The only other solution to allow usage of the web client again is to either create a new note so it doesn't try loading it, or delete the note entirely. Duplicating the note does not resolve the issue either, it still freezes up when viewing the duplicated note. Is this a known issue by any chance? Using Evernote's web client in Microsoft Edge on Windows 11. Has happened across two separate W11 PCs now. Tested and confirmed not an issue with the latest version of the iOS app on iOS 17 beta. I've just tested both and they seem to be working OK for me (Chrome on Windows 11) Link to comment
Level 5 Dave-in-Decatur 2,895 Posted September 2 Level 5 Share Posted September 2 Do all notes with checkboxes do this, or only certain ones? If only certain ones, is there anything else they have in common? If it's all notes with checkboxes (please forgive the Captain Obvious nature of this), is there any chance you're using the older version of the Web client? All I did was try copy and pasting some text to another app (from Discord, if it's notable) and it's suddenly locked up the tab. The text from Discord had a slightly different colour (it's a slightly darker gray) though nothing unusual otherwise that I can gather. Electron glitch, maybe? I know they both use Electron. The previous note that locked up was all freshly typed up in Evernote though, I don't recall copy and pasting at all. 4 hours ago, Dave-in-Decatur said: Do all notes with checkboxes do this, or only certain ones? Level 5 Dave-in-Decatur 2,895 Posted September 3 Level 5 Share Posted September 3 I use Evernote Web sometimes in Edge on a Windows 10 laptop, and I haven't encountered this. Have you tried using a different browser? Is there anything the problematic notes have in common (since it's not checkboxes)? Link to comment
Solution evad3r7926 5 Posted September 3 Author Solution Share Posted September 3 Think I managed to find the culprit! It was the Dark Reader extension. Dark Reader - Microsoft Edge Addons It was only freezing up when I was using checkboxes in the beginning, so it must have been trying to correct the colour of the checkboxes and causing a freeze. Whitelisting evernote.com in Dark Reader has resolved the issue. I'll see if I can report it to the extension dev. Huge relief Thanks everyone for your input! 2 Link to comment
