Show link "preview" (ala twitter)

Ron Gejman

Idea

I use Evernote for keeping collections of bookmarks / links often with annotations. It would be wonderful if there were a way for Evernote to display a "preview" of the link like Twitter and other apps do. I know Evernote does this already for youtube links (see attached) but it would be great if there were the option to do this for *every* link. Ideally the default format/style of the link could be customized per note so that some notes could have short previews (e.g. title only) and others could have a preview of the webpage itself.

P.S. Apologies if this has already been requested - I can't find it in the forum.

How do you gather the bookmarks? If you use the webclipper "bookmark" function you get a bookmark note that looks like this

Because it is still a note you can still annotate it. Would that help?

the ability to paste arbitrary URLs and format the result as a preview

Yes, exactly this! It would be great and make the note much more visual and exciting.

Something like this:
