The Client Debug Mode would appear on its own in a few minutes after starting Evernote app

When I start Evernote, the Client Debug Mode would appear on its own in a few minutes while leaving my smartphone alone.

I can press back button (on android) and the app exits. I tried several times to start the app and wait a while, but every result was the same. Also, I tried the following steps.

  • logout from the app on my smartphone
  • delete the app data and the app itself
  • restart smartphone
  • install the latest app (as of 2023/08/18) and login

Could you show me workarounds?

My smartphone is:

  • Android 13
  • Sony Xperia 10 V

Thanks in advance.

Have you had the update to v10 53.1? It arrived with me today. Perhaps this will fix things.

I'm sorry I've failed to inform you. I live in an area that is 9 hours ahead of UTC, so v10.53.1 had not yet been delivered at the time I posted on 2023/08/18. The app's version was 10.52.2.

The update arrived with me at on 2023/08/18 around 8pm (in my locale) . I updated the app and the issue was resolved.

I appreciate so much for your providing the information that the latest update has been delivered!!!

No not yet. Still on 10.52.2  (live in the Netherlands)
My cync. is currently not working. Existing notes will sync. but no new notes.

I hope the update will fix the problem.

You may want to post another thread for the syncing issue since your device would no longer display Client Debug Mode.

Have you tried the Tips for troubleshooting syncing issues from Evernote help?

for English (US):

https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/208313378-Tips-for-troubleshooting-syncing-issues

for Netherlands:

https://help.evernote.com/hc/nl/articles/208313378-Tips-voor-probleemoplossingen-voor-synchronisatieproblemen

Below are excerpts from the English version of the article.

Quote

When you add and edit notes on one device, Evernote syncs changes to our servers and then to your other devices. If your notes aren't syncing properly, follow the steps below.

  • (omitted)
  • Empty your 'Trash' notebook - Sometimes a note in your 'Trash' notebook will cause sync problems. In this case, emptying the 'Trash' may resolve the sync issues. There is no way to restore notes once they have been emptied from 'Trash'.

If this does not solve the issue, I suppose you can wait for a new version.
