# character jumping to shortcut

Suddenly entering shift+3 for '#' character followed by a space jumps to larger font and removes #

Can someone direct me where to modify this shortcut or if others can repeat the issue?

Mac Desktop, Chrome

Thanks!

You seem to have auto-formatting switched on...

You are definitely correct but note that you can't switch it off in V10

Best you can do is ctrl+Z after the event.

@Joe Hughes If you need a # at the beginning of a line you can either ctrl+z each time or do # followed by anything other than a space (or another #)

The backspace key also works to undo those auto-formatting events.

@Joe Hughes There are some more auto-formatting key strokes listed in the Keyboard Shortcuts side bar:

Thanks. I was just quoting what EN said on the webpage that @gazumped quoted. Nice to know there is an easier way.

Thanks guys!

I use # quite a bit for shorthand 'number of channels', 'number of inputs', etc. Will look into auto-formatting. The backspace after entering solve works for now.
