Ability to adjust time and date of updated section of note.

D-B-W

Idea

In Note Info you have the ability to change many things.

  1. You can change the name of the file.
  2. You can change the author of the file
  3. You can add a URL
  4. You can add a tag
  5. You can change the created date of the file.

BUT...

You can't alter the date or time in the updated section. (This feature is still available in the Evernote Legacy version)

I can't see why this is not available. The coding is already in use for the created date of the file. Please add this coding to the updated date of the file. I am sure that I am not the only person that wants to do this on occasion.

I'd like that ability too in the rare case that I need to change an old note -- maybe it has a typo or something -- and I don't want it to appear close to the top of the list of recent notes I've modified. I think I've seen it requested a few times since V10 rolled out.

Unfortunately, in V10 there is a little more to it than in Legacy since other meta-data types of changes will also change the Update date/time: change in notebook, tags -- even revealing the content of an encrypted block of text will change the Update date/time. Like that thread you probably recently saw:

Those meta-data changes didn't impact the Update date/time in Legacy.

I think this requested change and that one should go hand-in-hand, but I'm not planning on them ever seeing the light of day.

I've gotten used to working without it too and I don't think about it so much any more.

I too would like to be able to adjust the date/time of the updated section of a note (like I used to be able to do).  Since this change, it has messed up how I sort things!!!  Please give us this function back!!!

Thanks for the clarification Boot 17.

Yes, I have read this post also and have come to to the realization that Evernote will remain as it is.

I have kept a Notebook as a diary now for 12 years and have 365 notes for each day of the year that gets added to each day. That is why dates are so important. If I miss a day I can put in the information and then alter the date later.

Since starting this thread I think I have a solution. I am now going to work with created dates and not updated dates. Created dates are still adjustable in the latest Evernote for Windows.
