Uncheck all returned as a function

I have many notes with the old todo  or check list or whatever it is called as a list of steps for doing particular functions. They are not always a nice single line of a list where I can use the toggle method to uncheck all the boxes because it creates a checkbox for lines where I don't want a checkbox.  I want to be able to select the entire note and have it ONLY uncheck all the checkboxes which exist. Like I use to be able to do. Please return this function these notes are useless now as it is too involved to manually uncheck them.

I really don't understand why they removed this functionality. I totally support it's return but I'm not holding my breath. I find tables are particularly helpful to get around the problem. Provided you separate text from checkboxes in different table cells you can select the table (or column of the table) and use the "toggle method". So for example a table which contains checklists and text like this:
