Evernote Expert Popular Post agsteele 3,055 Posted July 13, 2023 Evernote Expert Popular Post Share Posted July 13, 2023 The Evernote Expert community has been given the release notes for the next versions of the Evernote apps which are being SLOWLY released from today - the first 1% of users today and so on... Quote 👉Although it’s not included in the notes, 10.59 will also include a new database move feature, which will allow users to select where their database is located, and is a solution for the Low Hard Drive Space warning (“The disk containing your local Evernote data appears to be nearly full. Please delete some files to make room or choose a new location for your Evernote data in the application settings.”). This will be included in the official notes of the next release. Release notes New Added option to disable Low Hard Drive Space warning Added option to disable Open Local File warning (handling file:// links) Added option to disable Open External Application warning (handling file:// links) 👉 These changes are all a result of many Mac users reporting consistently getting the dialog since Evernote was checking physical free space on the hard drive. Mac has the ability to offload to the cloud and free up some space. Fixed Set Low Hard Drive Space limit to 5GB before showing warning Previously, the warning dialog showed at 5% free space on the drive containing the database. Performance improvements and miscellaneous bugs Plus, we’re restoring the general feedback button in the Help context menu Some additional information👉 If a user gets a low hard drive space warning, what should they do? They can (a) clear their recycle bin, (b) delete temporary files, (c) uninstall something, and (d) delete the download cache.👉 Can the user use the web version and upgrade their hardware? Increasing hard drive space could help, but it’s not really an option for most users—clearing space is probably the best option. 👉 What happens if someone ignores the warning? No immediate effect, it's just a warning. Ideally, they would use the new database move feature (scheduled for the next release) which will allow the user to decide where their data is stored locally. However, if you don’t free up space at a certain point, you’ll start having a lot of issues: it will fail to save data and probably crash your client. Essentially, it’s an early warning rather than a critical one. Evernote Expert agsteele 3,055 Posted July 17, 2023 Author Evernote Expert Share Posted July 17, 2023 I understand that there has been a delay so the process is due to start today or tomorrow. It depends on some external factors. 1 Link to comment
Magnus Møller Petersen 14
🤷🏼♂️ 🤘🏻 I'm currently finding myself using Unite to create a desktop app that simply accesses the web client of Evernote until 10.59 is released. I've lost one too many tasks to keep using 10.58 🤪 Link to comment

James000 12
I thought today was the last day of the rollout for Android so I was wondering if there was any updates. But I guess I'll see if it comes in at 11:59 p.m. 😁 Link to comment
