Boox Handwritten Notes saved as .pdfs not always able to open in evernote

Sometimes it works and sometimes it does not. The .pdf has a name but then it will say untitled attachment and the the handwritten text is also somewhat recognised in the first visible sentences of the thumbnail, and you can see bits and pieces of handwritten text in the thumbnail of the note but it is not saved.

Maybe you better go to the Boox forum to get answers.

https://help.boox.com/hc/en-us/search?utf8=✓&query=Export+pdf+

From what I have read there, the pdf exports are a) low quality vector graphs b) when an original pdf was annotated, it often is corrupted and can’t be opened any more and c) handwriting exported as pdf is not searchable any longer.

The last issue is relevant in another aspect as well: EN makes many attachments searchable. But handwriting will only be OCRed when coming as a picture file (JPG, PNG or GIF). Handwriting in a pdf will not be made searchable.

In general these Boox devices look a lot like a struggling company: Claims of missing new firmware, still running on Android 11, functions are meager, and calling up prices similar to an iPad, but with only a fraction of its capabilities. I wouldn’t spend any money on this lame duck.

Does the file name have a space right before the .pdf extension?  I just ran into a bug that caused "Untitled Note" if there was a trailing space.
