Mac find within note keyboard shortcut

I used to use command F on my mac evernote client app to find a word within a note that is open or selected. suddenly it's not working anymore, what gives? this is basic functionality in many apps. can i restore this somehow?

Works for me as long as I click inside the note first.

If things aren't working as they should,  then sign out / back in | restart device | uninstall / restart / re-install as necessary to get it working again.  Also: device / OS / Evernote version helps.
