myfta 0 Posted April 27, 2023 Posted April 27, 2023 Ever since version 10 was introduced there has been a serious gap in the functionality of managing tag hierarchies compared to version 6. Whilst you can create a hierarchy this can only be done one tag at a time. Multiple tags cannot be selected either. The same shortcoming exists in the web version. The only workaround appears to be is to revert to Evernote Legacy, When is this going to be fixed? If it is not, or cannot be done with the current architecture/software, can you tell us so users can decide whether o look elsewhere. Many thanks.
Evernote Expert gazumped 12,634 Posted April 27, 2023 Evernote Expert Posted April 27, 2023 As I seem to keep on saying in this forum - this is 99.9% supported by experienced users like me. We have no technical access or special expertise, and no inside knowledge. If you genuinely, actually, really want a response from Evernote, subscribers go here - https://help.evernote.com/hc/requests/new - anyone and everyone here - https://twitter.com/evernotehelps.
myfta 0 Posted April 27, 2023 Author Posted April 27, 2023 I sense your frustration, but as this forum section is for Technical Issues and is hosted by Evernote on their own website it's reasonable to assume that Evernote might have some interest in the feedback. It's great that it is supported by super users but that's not really in the best interests of Evernote if they want to stay in the game. I have previously been a subscriber but not after the wheels started to fall off the functionality.
Level 5 Dave-in-Decatur 4,256 Posted April 27, 2023 Level 5 Posted April 27, 2023 @myfta, most of the forums here are labeled as "Community-based help." I use lots of software that is supported mostly if not entirely by such user-to-user forums. It may be unfair, but I don't actually think it is reasonable anymore to expect to find a support forum with primary participation by developers and support staff. I'm sure there are some, and I'm happy if I find one; but this has become the norm, because it's cheaper, and capitalism today is powered by cheap. 1

That's perfectly OK if it's an Open Source project, but this is commercial software and this is an Evernote owned and maintained support forum. They don't appear to have any other medium other than Twitter (that many users would not use nowadays anyway!)

For general ideas about improvement there is a share feedback option available from the Help menu If you are a paying customer you can also raise a support request https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/requests/new: For me, most of the value oif these forums is having other users point out different, and often novel, ways of getting round a problem that I can implement now, rather than wait for EN to do something about it (if they ever do). Sadly mass organisation of tags is one of those things that really is not possibl in V10 and does need to be done in legacy. 1
