John Karahalis 0 Postado March 28, 2023 Postado March 28, 2023 Gboard has a feature which allows users to quickly delete words behind the cursor. If the user puts their thumb on the "backspace" button, and then keeps their thumb held down while moving their thumb to the left, Gboard will delete words behind the cursor. The further the user moves their thumb to the left, the more words will be deleted. When this is done in an Evernote note, words behind the cursor are deleted, as expected, but words ahead of the cursor are also deleted unexpectedly. Said another way, more words are deleted than should be deleted. 1
Evernote Expert agsteele 3.069 Postado March 29, 2023 Evernote Expert Postado March 29, 2023 There are a number of reported issues working with Gboard gestures. Search the forums for Gboard. It is evident that Evernote & Gboard don't play well together. It isn't clear whether the issue is with Gboard or with Evernote. Try opening support tickets with both applications and let us know if you find any answers.
McVitas 30 Postado June 1, 2023 Postado June 1, 2023 This is not just about gestures. Just try selecting any text, tap backspace and you will see that not only the selected text was deleted but also a bunch of text after it! This is a serious bug! 1
Mesel 0 Postado July 11, 2023 Postado July 11, 2023 Any progress here? This is going to cause me to switch to another provider
Tiz 0 Postado September 4, 2023 Postado September 4, 2023 I've almost entirely stopped using Evernote because of this. I don't have this issue on any other app. For a NOTEBOOK, input is core to the user experience. I should be able to delete text without deleting the text ahead of my selection.. 1
Андрій 0 Postado April 27 Postado April 27 Still not fixed. Not only the delete gesture but backspace, when a few letters were selected, deletes much more than selected, too. As @McVitas and others wrote long time ago.

dbsmith 1 Postado June 18 Postado June 18 Finally got fed up enough to submit a ticket, but it sounds like from the discourse here and elsewhere Evernote doesn't see this as a priority. For what it's worth, Gboard calls this "gesture delete". 1
