EN 10.54 Windows - Insert menu keeps popping up

Every time I click on the body of a note, the Insert menu pops up and won't close until I click on the blue plus button. Is this a glitch or is there some setting I've accidentally selected? Any help would be appreciated?

This is definitely not the way things should work and I've not seen this.

I'd recommend that you uninstall using Revo Uninstaller. Then download the latest version from Evernote.com and reinstall. The direct download is a better option than the Microsoft store version.

Use Revo Uninstaller since the standard Windows uninstall leaves lots of files behind.

Thanks @agsteele! I am also a big fan of Revo Uninstaller. Cleans so much more crud than Windows uninstall. I guess there was some glitch in upgrading from 6.25 to 10.54, because the problem has indeed disappeared after reinstalling. I had used the direct download for the upgrade as well as for the reinstall.
