Excessive ram usage

Why is Evernote slowing down my new Mac using 13+GB of ram usage?. Why? How to resolve it? What is going on? I'm not technical but on my old Mac this wasn't the case. Anybody?

Quit the app, open it again.

in most cases this should sort it out. If not, restart the Mac after quitting.

Usually all components of EN will together use between 1 and 2 GB. This is due to the framework based concept, where a „headless“ browser is nesting the app. I never saw it go beyond 2 GB on one of my Macs.

If the blocked RAM is so much larger, probably data that was previously loaded into the RAM is not dropped once used. This can be a temporary malfunction. If it repeats itself, or doesn’t reset after quitting & restarting, you should contact support.
