Possibly because no-one has explained the exact feature required,  given any sort of justification for the cost involved in developing it,  or asked -politely- for it to be included.

Actually - since I am on a Mac - I would not waste a moment on such a request.

I have the PopClip menu extension installed, that beside many other functions allows me to select any text and then pick one of several search engines (including specialized ones like Wikipedia, Ecosia and Wolfram) to perform a web search.

This works not only in EN, but in any app I use on my Mac.

You can do it in website version of EN in Chrome as it is a function of the browser.
