Evernote Scratch Pad Totally Erased Suddenly (Disappointed!)

GirlWhisperer

Idea

I just noticed that my scratch pad notes in Evernote are all gone! Truly and utterly disappointed with Evernote!
My scratch pad notes have been there for months...if not more than a year.

I was trying out Evernote Trial and yesterday was my last day. So my account was downgraded to the free version.
I didn't know that Evernote would reset my entire Home Page including emptying my scratch pad.

There were no warnings that my scratch pad will be all gone!

Please help me get back my scratch pad notes or any way I can get back my notes!

Thanks

Guessing you were on a Professional plan trial as Personal doesn't allow for multiple scratch pads?

You could try to subscribe to Professional for one month to see if -- just maybe -- your multiple scratch pad content is still there. It might be there and is just inaccessible -- kind of like Version History is there for all plans but only Personal and above can access it.

I was on Personal Trial Plan. But after I was downgraded, everything got reset.

You mean there is such thing as history version for scratch pad?

I couldn't find it anywhere on Evernote.

If there is a solution to this please let me know. I really want to get back my notes.

WRT "no warnings," here's the article comparing features of the different plans: https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/209005157. You have to scroll down pretty far, but "Customize Home with multiple pinned note and scratch pad widgets" is marked for Professional and Teams plans only. Since scratch pads can always be converted to notes, it might good just on general principles to do that rather than keep them hanging around for months.

Scratch pad is exactly what it is called - that slip of paper lying around you use to quickly jot down something. The scratchpad is not meant to keep content for longer, and it is not syncing by itself to the database. So I think in this case the content got erased when the account downgraded.

Content that needs to be at hand should be saved in a note, and either the note pinned to Home, and / or selected for shortcuts.

Ah - ok. I got the impression from your original post that you had multiple scratch pads -- but you just had a ton of notes in one scratch pad.

No, I thought maybe you had multiple scratch pads under a Professional trial and now you were only back to one scratch pad (and that those other scratch pads are there).

But my assumption was wrong -- sorry.

There isn't one that I know of -- I think you are just out of luck.

As Pink and Dave said, scratch pad isn't the best place to put long term notes -- so sorry you had to find out the hard way.
