Annotate PDF no longer working

The annotate box comes up and I can make the annotation - but the Save box does not activate. I can make annotations using my normal PDF editor, so it is not the old matter of not being able to update the file in the file system.

The better way to annotate on a Mac is anyhow to open the pdf in Preview, and annotate it there. It works seamlessly:

• Click on the pdf, click on "Open" in the little menu that shows on top of the attachment
• Preview opens, make your annotations.
• Now choose "Close Window", or type cmd-W. The pdf closes and automatically saves with all changes back into the note.

Much better than the clumsy tools EN delivers in the app.

Finally just to mention it: The in app annotation works for me as well (Max Mini, Monterey).
