(Archived) searchphrase in "quotes" does not show up inside a note

hi,

i'm using the actual stable mac Version 1.11.0 (99371).

if i search for this is a test on all notebooks, EN finds me about 15 notes.

when i enter one of the found notes, the first marked result is this.

i have to scroll for finding more results like is or test.

this seems to be ok.

if i search for "this is a test" (with quotes) on all notebooks, EN finds me about 3 notes,

which indicates me, that EN did not searched vor every word, but the whole phrase inside the quotes. (please correct me, if i'm wrong here)

now, when i enter one of the found notes, the first marked result is this.

i assumed, that it should be "this is a test" and not only this.

(because, why would i enclose a searchterm in quotes if not to search the whole phrase?)

its no differnce, wether the result is on a textnote, or a ocr'd image. on the ocr'd image, the word this has a double-frame, while the is a test has a normal frame.

can anybody tell me, if this is fixed in the new mac version, or if this is a feature, not a "bug" ?

cheers,

Correct, this is a bug. The actual search (finding the list of notes) behaves correctly, but the highlighting is just looking for individual words, and not limiting it to phrases.

I've run into a similar problem. I keep continuous notes on topics separated by dates. Today, I was looking for what I'd written in several notes earlier in the week, so I searched for "12-7-10". The notes with that phrase were correctly picked out, but every 12, 7, and 10 was highlighted. So, it looks like punctuation is being treated the same way as spaces for this bug.
