Background image does not stay

I have a Personal account. I have modified my Home background image with an image I uploaded. The new image shows up on the Home page right after I modify it in the Customize section, but then if I close and re-open the desktop app or evernote.com in a browser, it reverts to the original default background image. How can I get the new background image to stay?

Hi.  There are some requirements for the image file size...

If you choose to upload your own image, the recommended size is 2000 x 1280 px. You can upload a .jpg or .png file up to 5 MB. To change the background image, follow the steps for your operating system below.

I'm seconding what gazumped said @dmmontana

I was having issues with a photo staying as a background, and I confirmed it was about 6MB. Once I trimmed it down, I find it is able to stay without issue.

There is no prompting for error when you attempt to upload the picture, which caused for some confusion.
