jordangarrison 0
Hello Evernote Community, I've noticed I cannot clip sites like GitHub and Discourse with the Safari web clipper. I will click the clipper and nothing will happen (no errors in the console or anything). I can swap over and use the Chrome clipper just fine on those pages. I moved to safari for syncing and battery life and am hoping to not have to spin up another browser just to clip a web page. Has anyone else had any luck? Best, Jordan Link to comment

jordangarrison 0
Hi @gazumped, I was just looking at clipping this one https://github.com/MonitorControl/MonitorControlLite, but it's the same for any repository page on GitHub. Best, Jordan Link to comment
Level 5 PinkElephant 6,720 Posted September 22, 2022 Level 5 Share Posted September 22, 2022 The clipper problem on GitHub was reported on the forum already. It seems the pages are pretty complex. Web clipper needs to guess what’s important, and fails in some cases. Web clipper will always struggle with some pages. EN tries to keep it working on all pages, so maybe a future release will make it work. You can report the problem with a support ticket. 1 Link to comment
arkanoid 1
But it works in Chrome. Also, almost all the sites where I am unable to clip in Safari work in Chrome just fine. It is certainly the plugin problem. Link to comment
Level 5 PinkElephant 6,720 Posted September 22, 2022 Level 5 Share Posted September 22, 2022 It may as well be a problem of the browser engine. Safari uses WebKit, Chrome its own engine. In doubt contact support. 1 Link to comment

To piggyback here, there are Safari Clipper updates happening all the time. Unlike Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge, they might not auto-update. Check the Mac App Store frequently for new versions of the Clipper. Link to comment
Level 5 PinkElephant 6,720 Posted September 28, 2022 Level 5 Share Posted September 28, 2022 It may happen that the update is not installed, but it is not my experience. Safari regularly asks me to allow to be closed, to run an update of the WebClipper plugin. This happens automatically. However checking for updates does no harm. Link to comment
