Focus changes to note (not text) when I start editing an older note

When I start to edit an older note (by clicking into the body text of the note, and starting to type), the app (a) moves that note to the top of the note list -- as expected, but (b) changes the focus to the note, not the text.  This second effect is not expected, and is annoying -- I have to re-click into the note I was already editing just to continue typing.

Anyone else have this issue?

I use the desktop Evernote app

No, not for me. Windows v10.44.8

Try a clean uninstall with AppCleaner. Then reinstall with the current version and see if that fixes things.
