Updates on desktop and online Evernote

Hi, 

I use the Evernote App, a downloaded version of Evernote and evernote.com

Recently I have found that I cannot create notes on either the downloaded version (Mac) or Evernote. Also if I update notes on the downloaded version or evernote.com, they are not reflected in the App. So I am left with the App being the only reliable source or tool. Does anyone have any solution to this
