Can't save list of tasks in template

I want to create a template that has a recurring task list.  I am able to recreate the note by duplicating it, and the tasks work fine.  But if I save a template of the note, the tasks do not transfer over.  Everything I've read seems to say that only notes can contain task lists. I would prefer to create a template that will allow the original tasks to be indicated on each note.  anyone have a workaround, or any tips for me?

How about the old "export your template to a local ENEX file and double-click the file to create a new note" trick...?

If you make this note a shortcut you can duplicate or copy it directly from the side bar by right clicking it. That is probably faster than the template route.

Great tip in general! NB this works in the Windows desktop app, but not in the Web client, where the right-click menu is controlled by the browser.
