spell check bad for English

Evernote current version flags all English names of people, companies, places as spell error - it also flags times 10PM 10AM and much more basic text that any other spell check tool gets right  Makes Evernote almost useless.

Evernote relies on the dictionary provided by your operating system so to that extent it is the OS that isn't proving to be useful.

Make sure you have a current dictionary installed in your operating system mEN is using this dictionary, provided by the OS supplier. It can only check one language, the one on which your OS is set to operate.

Apart from this you need to train words that a dictionary will typically not hold. Names is an example - there are many possible spellings for names. Training initially will feel like a PITA, but it pays itself off: After a little while, the new words are getting less and less, and the underline will really just highlight real typos.
