Mac desktop shortcuts

I just started using Evernote on a Mac and would like to know if there is a shortcut to add a checkbox. I use them often and would like an easier way to insert one than pressing on plus and choosing Checkbox.

Thanks in advance!

I'm not aware of a keyboard shortcut, but there is an autoformat command that could be helpful. Try typing two square brackets "[" followed up "]," i.e. "[ ]" inside a note and then pressing enter. If you do this at the start of the line, it creates a checklist, and if you do it anywhere other than the start of a line, it will instead create a checkbox. If you need a checkbox at the start of a line, you can prepend any character first (e.g. type a period then the two brackets and a checkbox will be created).

Thank you Paul! Very helpful and appreciated! Works like a charm! I actually just tried to create a keyboard Mac shortcut to the [] or .[] that you suggested but for some odd reason that doesn't work but manually typing the keystrokes you suggested is not so difficult :)

Thanks again!
