BUG: Note additions disappear

RonCohen

Idea

Posted

I and my collaborator have both made extensive additions to a note but everything we added and both saw for at least hours afterwards has now disappeared and only the original note is on evernote. This is true across platforms (desktop, iphone, macos, windows) so is not a sync issue it seems.

Have you been working both at the same note at the same time ?

EN is not build for that !

You can only try to recover from note history (subscription feature).

This sounds like a combination of simultaneous editing by two different people, and a network glitch for one of them that messed up their sync. Definitely better to have only one editor at a time.

I don't think so because it did not happen while editing. The additions disappeared the next day after all edits.

Only support can check if anything happened on the server. You can check the modified date that shows when the last edit was registered. Note history will show some (but not all) change dates before.

The new edits don't show in the history, and the history doesn't have enough information (like who edited) to tell what happened. This case is not a huge problem, but if evernote is not reliable and loses stuff it is not useful.

In this case the edits likely have never reached the server - they were not synced to the master copy.

You may contact support about it.

I don't see how two different people could see them and on different devices if they didn't reach the server. I guess I will hope this was just a fluke. Thanks,
