evanair 4
On the desktop version of Evernote, enclosing a search term in "quotes" causes the search to return only the whole contents of the quoted text in the results. When performing the same search in the iOS version, the quotation marks are essentially ignored, and all notes containing *ANY* part of the search string are returned. This yields far too many results for the search to be an effective tool. Link to comment
Level 5 PinkElephant 8,066 Posted July 15, 2022 Level 5 Share Posted July 15, 2022 On trying I could reproduce this. On iOS the same search string with or without quotation marks delivers the exact same number of hits. In the desktop client on the Mac, the number with quotation marks is reduced significantly. The same search string combined with quotation marks does not deliver the same results. To see what EN tells about it, you can issue a support ticket. Link to comment
evanair 4
I can no longer find any place on the Evernote site to submit a support ticket. Link to comment
Level 5 PinkElephant 8,066 Posted July 15, 2022 Level 5 Share Posted July 15, 2022 The easiest way is through the mobile client, settings, support or in the own account on the web. Or you have a link ... https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/requests/new Link to comment
