Android - annotation - what is this button?

Cannot find the answer. It seems to be doing... nothing. I must miss something.

This symbol is toggling the "perfect shape" mode on and off.

When drawing a shape, it may look like a child did - or the system kicks in and transforms it into a perfect circle, triangle or square. From my experience the triangle is sort of fidgety  - it decides itself if it wants to do something.

As you can see from my screenshot, it was taken on the iOS client.

So I assume it works the same on Android, but I have personally no chance for a positive check. I avoid everything coming from Google (if possible) …
