Web clipper: iPadOS16 / Safari Web Extension

Recommended Posts

Any work on Webclipper as browser extension for iPadOS 16?

Most paywalled sites do not clip properly via the Share method of Safari on iPad and some sites even block the "Reader Mode" on Safari and so, cannot even get a proper PDF.

Webclipper as browser extension would solve a lot of problems.

Paywalled sites are a mixed blessing with the „real“ web clipper as well. Some work, many don’t.

So I would not expect too many improvements in this respect.

About the reader mode: I sometimes have the effect that after being on a page, moving down and up, the reader becomes greyed out. When I leave and open the site freshly, reader mode is back and available - but only if I use it right away. Once I start to prevail on the page, it greys out again. To me this seems less a sharing issue, but probably rooted in how some pages are build.
