How do you add a note to a task while using IOS or Mac desktop

Since there is no ability to add subtasks I wanted to use notes related to a task as some have suggested. My problem is I can not figure out how to add a note to a task. Can someone elaborate. I am sure I am missing something.

You can't.

In EN the note is the leading element, tasks are always resting in a note. If there is no note specified, there is a default note to collect all homeless tasks.

Think of the note as a container that can hold many different items - to see a selection click on the blue + button. Tasks is one of them, with some functions not available for other types of attachments. But the tasks are still an attachment to a note, not vice versa.
