Creating New Note by default, rather than a Task

I rarely use Tasks, so would prefer to click New and end up with new Note opening, rather than having to choose between a Note and a Task. Is this possible?

You don’t need to choose (assuming you mean the desktop and web client, mobile is different): Since the „New note“ button is right under the „New …“ button - creating a note just takes a double click.

Yes, it is one of these cases where muscle memory beats the brain.

Or, which is still faster, use the shortcut ctrl/strg - N / cmd - N. It will create a new note right away, and place the cursor into it.

For a new task, there is a different shortcut ctrl/strg - T / cmd - T.

Or if the Evernote home screen is displayed you can click on the icon in the right upper corner of the first widget (this should be per default the last changed notes).
