Same Settings, Any Device

Let me change any setting on any device ... why can't settings sync just as content? ... why must one be using a mobile device to change the setting for mobile devices?

Why ? Just a few reasons that are crossing my mind:

• First use cases of desktop and mobile clients are different.
• Second their abilities are different, and a desktop client may or may not be aware of abilities of a mobile client.
• Third maybe you want different settings on any device - I have some differences between my iPhone and my iPad, for example.

There are some general settings in your account profile on the web - which are linked into the settings pages on the clients. These work for all devices, but are basically server side settings. Personally I prefer the local settings to be done on device.
