Hi.  No.  One of the basic rules of databases is 'search before save',  but I fairly often create duplicates with clips and scans.  I'd rather have that happen,  than have to wait a few seconds every time for a scan or a clip,  and possibly have to check through a few similar notes,  each time I saved something.  I delete,  edit or merge apparent duplications each time I find them as part of my normal 'housekeeping' of the notes database.

If you follow GTD rules, it is probably a good practice to set up a regular date to do some housekeeping, here and on your computer as well.

Sort by title often helps to find duplicates, especially if you follow a self created rule about how to build note titles.
