dargent1 0
For years I have been successfully using FileThis to download all my bank and credit card statements automatically into EverNote. Suddenly FileThis can't connect with Fifth Third Bank and says I have to sign into my bank account and answer a question. (All my other sign-ins continue to work perfectly with FileThis and Evernote.) So I sign into my bank account over and over and there is no question although I get in fine to my account. I contact Fifth Third and am switched to a Supervisor who says Fifth Third "has never allowed such connections" and she ignores my telling her that it has been working with Fifth Third literally for years for me. So I write FileThis and they say they don't know what the problem is. So as a last resort I am asking Evernote and its users on this forum if anyone else has run into this problem and if they found a solution. It's the main reason I use Evernote. Link to comment
Level 5 PinkElephant 6,845 Posted February 22, 2022 Level 5 Share Posted February 22, 2022 If you use the forum search, you rapidly can come up with a list of users who posted something related to FileThis in the past. Not many, but some fellow users seem to be on the forum. You can try to contact them via DM about your issue. 1 Link to comment
dargent1 0
Thank you for your suggestion. I am hoping that Evernote's team will attempt to assist us in this matter. Like many others, I bought and set up Evernote on FileThis' suggestion, as they were represented to be a team and partners in a then badly needed solution: Quote December 20, 2013 Written by Brian Berson … FileThisFetch.com Partners With Evernote Automatically fetches online documents from banks, utilities and other providers and delivers them to Evernote Mill Valley, CA—April 12, 2012—FileThis, a Marin, California-based startup, today announced the availability of its award-winning service FileThis Fetch for Evernote. FileThis Fetch, the 2012 MacWorld | iWorld Best of Show winner, is a service that lets consumers go paperless by automatically delivering monthly bills, statements and other electronic documents directly to their Evernote account. FileThis Fetch is available immediately to Evernote users through the Evernote Trunk. FileThis Fetch, a cloud-based web service, downloads and organizes years of information from household accounts such as banks, credit card companies, insurance companies, brokerage firms, mortgage companies, and phone and utility companies. The information is securely captured regularly and downloaded to Evernote, or to a folder on the user’s computer. … “FileThis Fetch is a perfect example of the types of applications that we love to see built on the Evernote platform” said Alex Pachikov, Evernote’s VP of Business Development. “Evernote is the place where you keep all of the important information in your life, but an organization system is only as useful as the content that you put into it. By making it painless to get all of your important documents into Evernote, FileThis Fetch makes Evernote more valuable to a user. It’s a perfect complement.” Like others, I bought EverNote expressly to use it in conjunction with FileThis, so I am hoping that the Evernote team will want to step in and in some way help us in overcoming this serious glitch in the Evernote systems we have set up. Level 5 PinkElephant 6,845 Posted February 23, 2022 Level 5 Share Posted February 23, 2022 Personally I doubt EN support can do anything about it. Your access problem is between FileThis and your bank - nothing EN probably can do about it. In Europe since a few months all Banks are obliged to ask for 2FA before an account access is allowed - usually by scanning a QR code with a dedicated smartphone app. Maybe this is the problem here as well. Yes, I am not blaming Evernote. I just thought they might have an interest in helping resolve the issue. Maybe the "Partners" characterization above overstated the anticipated relationship between the two. Perhaps I am only one of a handful that ended up buying and using Evernote for this purpose. And then, too FileThis is still working for my credit cards. I wonder if Evernote works with "Veryfi", which claims they do the same thing as FileThis and list the banks. Link to comment
Level 5 PinkElephant 6,845 Posted February 27, 2022 Level 5 Share Posted February 27, 2022 Probably the only method would be to get it and find out. Since my banks post all that stuff as pdf, I am quite happy sending these files to my account. No additional services needed - and by the obligatory 2FA in Europe, it would be hard to set up anyhow. 1 Link to comment
