Widgets only partially implemented as of 10.26/10.27

Although widgets have finally arrived, the functionality to create shortcuts directly from the launcher icon (e.g. to immediately capture a photo in a note, or start an audio recording, or start a simple note, etc.) has not yet arrived, even though they perform similar functions. See screenshot below of the old / legacy Evernote app for Android:
