Kyliegirl 1
I have only been so specific because all the posts I have found have been so old! I really want to be able to create a note of passwords, (I’m forever forgetting my password and having to reset them at least once a week! Yes, I have a lot of them saved on my iPad, but sometimes I have to sign in a different way and can’t remember). The nearest post I have come across about mobile devices has been 2017. Does anybody know if this has changed? Obviously I’ve had a look and I can’t see any option to encrypt highlighted text, but any information would be helpful. Even if I have to go to the desktop version, is there a file size limit? Many thanks in advance Link to comment
Level 5* DTLow 5,728 Posted February 17, 2022 Level 5* Share Posted February 17, 2022 Evernote does not support note encryption There is only a feature for text encryption My solution to the list of passwords is to use an external editor - I use Apple Pages Edit: The external editor does it's own encryption and the document is saved in Evernote as a note file attachment Link to comment

Level 5 PinkElephant 6,814 Posted February 17, 2022 Level 5 Share Posted February 17, 2022 Encryption is a feature of the desktop apps. To encrypt something for the iPad, you encrypt it outside of EN, using the encryption capabilities of that external app. Then you share the encrypted content into EN. Logically it works the other way round for decryption: Export the attachment to the app that has the encryption capability, decrypt it there, use the decrypted content for whatever use. EN can not decrypt anything that was encrypted by another app. Link to comment

Confirmed, encryption is done by the external editor I edited my post to make that clear Link to comment
Evernote Expert agsteele 2,587 Posted February 18, 2022 Evernote Expert Share Posted February 18, 2022 I use AxCrypt to handle this. The note content is entirely encrypted outside Evernote and then it doesn't matter if the note is encrypted or note. Link to comment
