Tim Kowal (b) 43
I use the Ctrl Q "switch to" search a lot. But when I find a note, Evernote displays it using the whole screen, and makes the note list disappear. Without the note list, I have no way to open/pop out the note into a new window. Is there a way to get the note list back and pop out the note once I've found it ? Link to comment

It has been raised many times before. Unfortunately there is no way of going from that to a conventional view. However and this is the good news for you, you can use the three dots menu at the top right hand side of the note to open it in a new window. 2 Link to comment
Tim Kowal (b) 43
"you can use the three dots menu at the top right hand side of the note to open it in a new window" I could swear I'd looked there before for just that option and didn't see it. But I've been known to overlook the obvious. Thanks! 1 Link to comment
Boot17 674
Really wish they'd add the ability to open the note in a new window right from the "Switch to" menu vs replacing the current note in the main view. (Anybody know if there is any way already to do that that I'm not seeing?) Link to comment

(Anybody know if there is any way already to do that that I'm not seeing?) Not that I know of, and this would be a useful improvement. Cmd-Enter (Presumably Ctrl-Enter on Windows) from the the note list will open a note into a new window, so the equivalent action from the "switch to" menu to open into a new window would be a logical and useful tweak. I wish Evernote staff kept a closer watch on the forums - this kind of quality-of-life change would take almost no time to implement and could be quite useful. 3 Link to comment

I miss the multiple tabs on MacOS, but I'm working around it ok with the open note in new window feature and being able to do that from the Switch To window would be icing on the cake! (Cmd + tilde for-the-win to cycle through each Evernote windows (or any windows of the same type) on Mac if anyone didn't already know.) And, btw (to all), I have already submitted that as a request through the Submit Feedback (and I'm pretty sure it's already added as a feature request in the forums -- I'll have to double-check.) 2 Link to comment
Level 5 PinkElephant 5,566 Posted February 19, 2022 Level 5 Share Posted February 19, 2022 You can move the new windows to an additional virtual Mac desktop to group them together, and separate them from the rest of what's going on the Mac. Link to comment
